This policy explains how SongGift, a registered business name of HRAR Appliances Pty Ltd (ABN 33 627 126 667), handles personal information. Questions or privacy requests can be sent to hello@songgift.com.au.
1. Information we collect
We collect information you choose to provide, including your name, email address, song brief, stories, lyrics, recipient details, photographs and their descriptions, preferred delivery date, package choice, messages and feedback. Stripe collects payment and billing information when you use a secure payment link. Our website and service providers may also process ordinary technical information needed to operate and protect the service, such as device, browser, security and service-log information.
2. How we use it
We use this information to review your request, communicate with you, create and deliver your SongGift, process and confirm payment, provide support, keep business and licence records, prevent misuse, improve the service and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your song brief or personal information.
3. Who receives it
Bruce and Ray access information needed to assess and fulfil your request. We disclose only what is reasonably needed to service providers that help us operate SongGift, such as website hosting, authentication, email and notification delivery, licensed creative tools, file storage and Stripe for payment processing. Those providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices. We may also disclose information when required by law, or to protect customers, SongGift or others from fraud, misuse or harm.
4. Storage, security and overseas processing
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including restricted access and trusted service providers, to protect personal information. No online system can guarantee absolute security. Some service providers may store or process information outside Australia, subject to their safeguards and applicable law.
5. How long we keep it
Private customer delivery links are normally available for 60 days from delivery. The expiry date is stated in the delivery message, and the customer should download and safely back up the included files during that period.
Ending customer access does not necessarily delete every production or business record on the same day. We retain source material, approved masters and records only for as long as reasonably needed to fulfil the order, provide support, maintain creation, licence, tax and business records, resolve disputes and comply with law. We delete or de-identify personal information when it is no longer needed, subject to any legal or operational requirement to retain it.
6. Your choices and access
You can ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you, withdraw a request that has not proceeded, or ask us to delete information that we are not legally or operationally required to retain. Contact us at hello@songgift.com.au. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
7. Sensitive stories and other people
Please share only information needed for the song. If you provide personal information about another person, make sure you have permission to share it. Avoid including highly sensitive information unless it is genuinely necessary and you are comfortable providing it.
Advertising measurement
If you allow advertising measurement, we load the Google Ads tag on our home, brief and privacy pages. Google may process cookies, ad-click identifiers and technical information such as your IP address and browser to measure whether an ad visit leads to a successfully saved brief. We send a random brief reference to avoid counting the same submission twice. We do not include your name, email, story, photographs or payment details in this conversion event. Enhanced conversions and personalised advertising signals are disabled.
You can decline without affecting the service, or change your choice using Advertising privacy choices on these pages. Declining prevents future measurement by this integration; it does not remove data already received by Google. Browser privacy controls can remove existing cookies. Google handles received data under its Privacy Policy. Visits to private gift, account and photograph-upload pages are excluded from this tag integration.
8. Updates and complaints
We may update this policy when our service or legal obligations change. The current version and date will remain on this page. If you have a privacy concern, contact us first so we can try to resolve it. You may also have the right to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
