What stays yours

You keep any rights you already have in the stories, original lyrics, photographs and other material you provide. You give SongGift permission to use that material only as needed to review your brief and create your song or included video.

Permission for people in photographs

If an identifiable person appears in material supplied for a SongGift video, you must have their permission for their image or likeness to be used in an AI-assisted personal video. A parent or legal guardian must authorise use involving a child. SongGift may ask for written confirmation before production.

AI-created scenes are artistic interpretations. A generated character, event or location may resemble the supplied material without being an exact record of a real person or event.

Personal sharing

For a completed, paid SongGift, the intended permission lets you download, keep and back up the final files; send the song and included video to friends and family; post them on your personal, non-monetised social accounts; and play them privately or at personal occasions such as birthdays, anniversaries, funerals and celebrations of life.

Ask before commercial use

Please obtain written SongGift approval before using the song or video in advertising, a paid campaign, a business, a monetised channel, paid broadcast, resale, relicensing or another commercial project. Approval depends on the licence records for that specific creation.

Do not register a SongGift in Content ID, a fingerprinting database, copyright registry or collecting society in a way that restricts lawful use of similar AI-assisted material.

AI-assisted music and video

Bruce and Ray shape each SongGift using licensed AI-assisted tools. SongGift keeps the relevant licence and creation records. An individual output may be licensed on a non-exclusive basis, and its licence may limit transfer, resale, registration in automated rights systems or some commercial uses.

Copyright protection may depend on the human contribution, the tools used and the law that applies. SongGift gives you the personal-use permission described above, but does not promise exclusive ownership, an assignment of any underlying tool licence, or freedom from automated platform claims.

Your responsibility

Please provide only material you have permission to use, including names, lyrics, photographs, recordings and private stories. Tell us before production if another person’s consent is needed or if anybody must be excluded.
